Bollywood Beauty Kareena Kapoor Unveils T20 World Cup Trophies In Melbourne

The truncated version of the game is ideally seen as a ‘gateway drug’ to the cricketing world, with each nation competing among themselves to come through with flying colours. As the music blares out from the speakers, the upcoming T20 World Cup tournament is scheduled to be held in Melbourne in 2020 and it is certain to elicit huge crowd.

Meanwhile, the international cricket body, ICC is doing absolutely everything to popularize the sport to a whole new level. The officials have earlier sent an invitation to Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor Khan, expecting her esteemed presence in Melbourne at a prestigious event.

She unveiled the two trophies for T20 World Cups (men’s and women’s) in Melbourne, Australia on Friday evening. The Women’s T20 World Cup is expected to go all guns blazing on February 21, 2020, followed by the Men’s treat, which is expected to begin from October 18 in the same year in Australia.

Clad in a brown pantsuit, the ever-so beautiful Kareena Kapoor spoke about gracing the event. She expressed her delight to be a part of the event where she encouraged all the women cricketers who are plying their trade for their respective teams.

“I am honoured to be a part of this prestigious evening. I would like to encourage all these women out there who are playing for their respective countries to pursue their dreams. It’s truly empowering to see them stand tall on an international platform,” Kareena Kapoor said as reported by Indian media.

They are an inspiration to one and all. My late father-in-law was one of the greatest cricketers who played for the Indian cricket team and it is an honour for me to be unveiling the trophy,” she added in a statement.
