Boria Majumdar Likely To Get Two-Year Ban In Wriddhiman Saha Case: Reports

The Indian cricket board is probably going to force a two-year restriction on sports journalist Boria Majumdar after a three-member BCCI committee viewed him to be blameworthy for threatening India wicket-manager Wriddhiman Saha over an interview request.
It was on February 19 that the occurrence became known with Saha tweeting the screen capture of his discussion with the journalist which showed how Boria Majumdar undermined the cricketer to show up for an interview.

Players Will Be Asked Not To Engage With Boria Majumdar
“We will be informing all state units of the Indian cricket board to not allow him inside stadiums. He won’t be given media accreditation for home matches and we will also be writing to ICC to blacklist him. Players will be asked not to engage with him,” a top BCCI official told The Sunday Express on condition of anonymity.

Boria Majumdar didn’t answer calls or text messages on Saturday.
The issue became exposed on February 19 this year, when the 37-year-old Bengal wicketkeeper shared a Twitter post that said: “After all of my contributions to Indian cricket… this is what I face from a so-called ‘Respected’ journalist! This is where journalism has gone.”
Saha likewise shared screen captures of indicated messages that he had gotten. One of them said: “You did not call. Never again will I interview you. I don’t take insults kindly. And I will remember this.”

Following his disclosure, Saha got boundless help from the cricketing community.
Former India coach Ravi Shastri asked BCCI president Sourav Ganguly to look into the matter.
Taking comprehension of the social media post, the BCCI framed a panel including VP Rajeev Shukla, treasurer Arun Dhumal, and apex council member Prabhtej Bhatia to test Saha’s charge.
While ousting before the board, Saha recognized Majumdar and claimed that he was “harassed” for an interview.
In the interim, Majumdar blamed the cricketer for “doctoring” the screen captures of the WhatsApp messages he had posted on Twitter and later imparted to the board.
