The two nations last played against each other in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The game between the two teams took place at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai, and it saw the Rohit Sharma-led side dominating the opposition with both bat and ball.

The two teams last locked horns in a bilateral series in 2012-13 when Pakistan arrived here. However, after that, due to the political tensions, they didn't play each other. Both arch-rivals only clash against each other in the ICC events and the Asia Cups. It remains to be seen what the future of IND vs PAK will be, considering the big-ticket clash it has been.
