“I came out of court on the first day to a paparazzi saying, ‘What do you think about your friend Shane dying? I feel I haven’t quite been able to process or grieve anything because I’ve been [in court] 10 to 5 every single day in this thing. It’s really, really sad” Sheeran recalled on the radio show.

“I loved Shane and I have an amazing last memory of me and him at a Coldplay gig together and I’m grateful,” he added.

Ed Sheeran also spoke about the unfortunate demise of one of Australia’s eminent musicians Michael Gudinski, who died suddenly at the age of 68 in March 2021.
