Former cricketer Nasser Hussain believes that Jos Buttler's England will remain unfazed by whatever Rohit Sharma's India throws at them later tonight.

England and India are all set to face each other in the semi-final of the ICC T20 World Cup for the second edition in a row. In their previous meeting at the semis of the 2022 T20 WC in Adelaide, Jos Buttler's Englishmen had claimed victory by 10 wickets. This time around, Rohit Sharma's Indian team will hope to turn the tables and get their revenge at last.

Both the teams have had quite a similar road to the semis of the 2024 T20 World Cup edition in the West Indies and the USA. It's just that the English team lost a game in the Group stages against Australia where as the Indian team won all of their 6 matches across the Group and Super 8 stages.

But all of that won't come into play when India and England square off against each other at the Providence Stadium in Guyana later today. Today, it will be all about the team that plays a better brand of T20 cricket and is capable of handling the nerves of a knock-out game.

Other than this being just India Vs England, there will also be a couple of match-ups waiting to take place. Rohit Sharma Vs Jofra Archer is going to be one of them, then Virat Kohli Vs Mark Wood, Jos Buttler Vs Jasprit Bumrah, and Harry Brook Vs Hardik Pandya. Since both the teams are perfectly balanced out, we can expect an even contest between them.

And ahead of the 2nd semi-final, Nasser Hussain had this to say about England's mindset against India.

Nasser Hussain blindly in favor of England

While writing for his column in the Daily Mail, Nasser Hussain claimed that England might be in trouble if Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli click together. However, regardless of what the Indians do, they won't be able to cause panic within Jos Buttler's team. This fearlessness and animosity to try and win the match - is going to make sure the Three Lions reach the finale, according to Hussain.

"If Rohit gets India off to a flyer, and Virat Kohli - who’s been short of runs - rises to the big occasion, England could be in trouble. But whatever India throw at them, Buttler’s team won’t panic. And that alone gives England a chance of reaching another World Cup final - even though they’ll need to be at their absolute best to win." - Hussain wrote.

Hussain reveals the mantra that can help England win

Nasser Hussain then revealed the game plan which can help England beat India in the semi-final tonight. Hussain believes that Jos Buttler and co. should try to take some inspiration from Pakistan who had taken the game very deep before losing. The former batter believes the Three Lions should look to take the game deep as power hitting alone won't be enough.

"Their challenge will be to stay in the game for as long as possible, because India have only been tested once so far in this World Cup, by Pakistan. They may also have to adapt to conditions, and decide that going for hell for leather isn’t the way to play." - Nasser Hussain concluded.
