Former Indian opener Aakash Chopra feels that dynamic all-rounder Cameron Green will be a hot pick among franchises in the upcoming IPL auctions.
Tipped as the next big thing in Australian cricket, Cameron Green displayed his batting talent to the hilt on the fourth afternoon of the ongoing Sydney Test as he notched up his maiden Test fifty.
Green, who had played a patient knock in Australia’s second innings of the Adelaide Test, displayed his power-hitting talent at the SCG, as he smashed a whirlwind 132-ball 84.
Green’s innings included eight fours and four monstrous sixes as he used his long handle to the hilt against the Indian pacers.
After having notched up his maiden half-century and his first 51 runs in 116 deliveries, Cameron Green went hell for leather as he smashed his next 33 runs in a mere 16 deliveries.
Besides his batting talent, Green has also shown remarkable control with the ball in whatever opportunities he has got in the series. He consistently troubled Rishabh Pant with the short-pitch stuff in the first innings.

Speaking on ESPNCricinfo, Aakash Chopra labeled Green as a ‘complete package’ besides adding that he will not be surprised if IPL franchises do not go beserk to avail his services in the upcoming auction
“He is a unique package. Of course, he is just enhancing his reputation because that reputation was built on his numbers in First-Class cricket”
“But you also want to see whether he can replicate in Test match cricket at the highest level and he has been able to do that. He is a rare package because he is a proper batsman who can bat in the top-5,” he added.
”He is that good a batsman. He can use the long handle, he has that range of hitting. Plus he is the bowler that a team would have as perhaps the third fast bowler, not actually the fourth because his basics are also right. His high arm action, he bowls at 140 clicks plus he is not wayward, so he will going to give you control. I will not be surprised if more than one team will be excited about Cameron Green in the IPL auction,” he concluded.
