Mohammad Rizwan has made a shocking claim after Pakistan's historic ODI series win over Australia. After the win, Rizwan claimed that he was only the captain of the team for toss and presentations.
In the deciding ODI at Perth, Pakistan continued the momentum that they gathered from Adelaide. The Men in Green first restricted the hosts to just 140 in their first innings on the back of some fantastic fast bowling.
Chasing a below-par score, Pakistan ensured to finish off the match without any hiccups. Openers Saim Ayub and Abdullah Shafique put on 84 for the first wicket. Despite both of them getting dismissed in quick succession, senior batters Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan finished off the game safely.

Mohammad Rizwan's shocking claim after Pakistan's ODI series win
Mohammad Rizwan was visibly ecstatic after Pakistan's win and shared a warm hug with the former captain Babar Azam. In the post-match presentation, Rizwan claimed that he is just the captain for the toss and presentations as he keeps receiving advice from the whole team.
"Special moment for me, the nation will be very happy today, we didn't perform as per expectations in the last couple of years. I'm the captain only for the toss and presentations - everyone gives me suggestions on the field, the batting group and the bowling group," Rizwan said.
The wicketkeeper-batter hailed his team's bowling line-up for setting up the match by bundling out Australia for a below-par score. He also mentioned the performances of the team's young opening duo of Saim Ayub and Abdullah Shafique.
"All the credit to the bowlers, Australia in Australia isn't easy, the conditions suit their style of playing, but the bowlers were outstanding. Also credit to the two openers, they made the chases easy. They (fans) don't care a lot about the results, but the people back home are always behind us and I want to dedicate this victory to them," Rizwan added.
Pakistani fast bowlers shine in Australia
Pakistan's bowlers have been fantastic throughout the series. Mohammad Rizwan has mostly relied on his fast bowlers in all three games. In Perth, Shaheen Afridi and Naseem Shah made full use of the pace and bounce on offer at Perth. Both the quicks claimed three wickets each.
Haris Rauf was adjudged the Player of the Match for picking up the big wickets of Matthew Short and Glenn Maxwell. Rauf had a fantastic series as he claimed 10 wickets in 3 matches at an average of 12. He was also adjudged the Player of the Series.
The series win is Pakistan's first ODI series victory in Australia in a span of 22 years. After suffering a defeat in the first ODI at Melbourne, the Men in Green bounced back to win the next two ODIs in Adelaide and Perth in a convincing fashion.
Great start for Mohammad Rizwan's captaincy tenure
The series victory also marks a brilliant start to Mohammad Rizwan's captaincy tenure for Pakistan. Rizwan was officially appointed Pakistan's white-ball captain just a few days before the start of the ODI series against Australia.
Before Rizwan, Babar Azam was Pakistan's white-ball skipper but stepped down from the role to focus on his own batting form. Fittingly, Babar Azam hit the winning runs for Pakistan as he smashed Adam Zampa for a four over to the long-on fence.
Babar remained unbeaten on 28 off 30 balls while Rizwan was not out on 30 off 27 balls. Both the senior batters shared an unbeaten stand of 58 runs for the third wicket as Pakistan clinched the series 2-1.
