West Indies all-rounder Carlos Brathwaite has welcomed a baby girl and has named her after the iconic Indian cricket venue in Kolkata – Eden Gardens, where he helped West Indies win the final of the 2016 T20 World Cup against England.

Brathwaite, who has also captained West Indies in T20Is, shot to fame in the final of the 2016 T20 World Cup after he hit Ben Stokes for 4 back-to-back sixes to win the title for West Indies. With 19 runs needed off the final 6 balls, Brathwaite opted for the quickest way possible to complete the chase and sent England on a leather hunt.

This victory over England made West Indies the first team to win the T20 World Cup twice and are still the only team with multiple T20 world titles. While Marlon Samuels did play his part with a knock of 85 in the chase to the target of 156, Brathwaite hogged the maximum limelight.
