England players will be available for the entire season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022, BCCI has reportedly confirmed.

England are scheduled to start their summer with the Test series against New Zealand starting on June 2 in London.

Although England Test skipper Joe Root and his deputy Ben Stokes have pulled out from participating in the IPL 2022 auctions, other England players,who are part of England’s red-ball plans, have signed up for the mega auction.

“After the IPL, the ECB is committed to starting the 1st WTC Test Match v New Zealand on 2 June, 2022. The player availability for all the ECB players will be through to Sunday, 29 May 2022 (sic),” the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has informed the franchises ahead of the mega-auction, as reported by Cricbuzz.

Australia players might play in Sheffield Shield final

According to a report by Cricbuzz, Australian players’ availability for IPL 2022 is subject to a few conditions, while the Sri Lankans will be away on national duty in Bangladesh in the middle of the season.

Australian players could back home to play the Sheffield Shield matches as the domestic season will come to end in April. According to BCCI, Australian players whose team will qualify for the final in the Sheffield Shield will be unavailable until April 5.

The State players whose team does not qualify for the Sheffield Shield Final will be available from March 27,” the BCCI mail read.

“State player whose team qualifies for the Sheffield Shield Final will be available from 5, April,” the mail further mentioned.

The Sheffield Shield final is scheduled from March 31 to April 4 while the IPL 2022 is expected to begin on March 27.

Many prominent white-ball specialists from England and Australia teams like David Warner, Pat Cummins, Jason Roy and Jonny Bairstow will go under the hammer in IPL 2022 auction on February 12 & 13.
