Meanwhile, Chennai Super Kings finally gave their fans something to cheer about with a thrilling two-wicket win over Kolkata Knight Riders on Wednesday. In this match, the debutant Urvil Patel stole the show by smashing a fiery 31 off just 11 balls, while Dewald Brevis blasted 52 off 25 to keep the chase alive against the KKR at the Eden Gardens.

Shivam Dube chipped in with a crucial 45, and MS Dhoni calmly finished the chase, staying unbeaten on 17 off 18 balls. Chennai chased down KKR’s 180-run target in 19.4 overs — their first successful 180+ chase since 2019 in the Indian Premier League.
