Chetan Sharma begins a new Cricket League in India days before IPL 2025; beginning of a new clash?

The Asian Legends League 2025 is set to offer a thrilling experience for fans by bringing together cricket legends from India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Qatar, UAE, and Afghanistan. This league, endorsed by former India chief selector Chetan Sharma, will kick off on March 10 in Nathdwara, Rajasthan.
Many former legendary cricketers of Asia will feature in the upcoming tournament. Indian Royals, Sri Lankan Lions, Bangladesh Tigers, Afghanistan Pathans, and the Rest of the Asian Stars will be part of the league. A total of 15 matches, including knockout matches, will be played during the nine-day event.

League commissioner Chetan Sharma said that the Asian Legends League is more than just a cricket tournament. Sharma added that the league gives fans an exciting opportunity to watch legends from different Asian nations.
"The ALL T20 is more than just a cricket league - it's a celebration of retired Asian cricketers coming together. The league gives fans an exciting opportunity to watch legends from all corners of Asia compete in a country-versus-country clash," said Chetan Sharma.
A Star-Studded Lineup of Legends to Feature in the Tournament
According to an ALL T20 release, team selection for the Asian Legends League will be conducted through a player draft in New Delhi on February 15, with only registered players eligible for selection.
Herschelle Gibbs (Bangladesh Tigers), Shivnarine Chanderpaul (Afghanistan Pathans), and Marvan Atapattu (Rest of Asian Stars) have been named as coaches. All matches will take place at the Miraj International Cricket Stadium in Nathdwara.
"A star-studded lineup of legends from these countries will feature in the tournament," the release said.
Former all-rounder Irfan Pathan will represent the Indian Royals, and the Sri Lanka Lions have signed Thisara Perera. Afghanistan Pathans will be led by former skipper Asghar Afghan. Mohammad Ashraful will play for the Bangladesh Tigers, and Abdul Shakoor has been named the icon player for the Asian Stars.
