Speaking further, the senior police official narrated the entire incident. He stated that the IPS officer’s daughter was watching the game with his brother and decided to go to the washroom by leaving her purse on the seat.
When she returned from the washroom at Chinnaswamy Stadium, she saw a man occupying her seat, and it was the beginning of the altercation.
"When the brother told him to vacate as his sister was all set to return, the man did not budg,e and an argument broke out between the two. Soon, the sister joined her brother while the man was joined by his wife, the income tax official, and their son.
"The argument intensified with each hurling abuse at the other. At one point, the confrontation between the IPS officer’s daughter and the man almost went out of control as the man was arguing in her face," the cop said.
With the situation getting out of control, the sister and her brother decided to call their parents. The IPS officer’s wife told her kids to move out of the stadium while she decided to go to the Cubbon Park police station and lodge a complaint.
After the complaint was filed, the man in question and his wife were summoned to the police station. They were allowed to leave the police station after a couple of hours.
