Swashbuckling West Indies opener, Chris Gayle feels that he can emulate Yuvraj Singh’s feat of hitting six sixes in an over. Former India batsman, Yuvraj Singh smashed England’s Stuart Broad for six consecutive maximums in an over during the 2007 T20 World Cup in South Africa.

Nobody in international cricket has done it again. Gayle says that he can do it in the new format of cricket: The Ultimate Kricket Challenge, which is a concept created by Kunal Sharma. Gayle along with Yuvraj Singh, Kevin Pietersen, Andre Russell, and Rashid khan will participate in this new form of the game.

Yuvraj has done it before so why can’t I do it: Chris Gayle

Ahead of his bout with Yuvraj, Gayle says that if the Indian southpaw can do, so can he. The UKC is a tweaked format of the game with different rules- one of which is that a match is divided into 4 innings of 15 balls each.

As quoted by Hindustan Times, Chris Gayle said, “It’s very much possible to hit sixes. So, if six is possible and Yuvraj has done it before so why can’t I do it. Yes, you, I anybody can do that.”

Gayle acknowledges the greatness of the 2011 World Cup-winning all-rounder. He opines that Yuvraj is a tough competitor- on the field and in the media as well. The left-hander will eye to record Yuvraj’s 6 sixes accomplishment in the tournament.

“Yuvi boss is always a stiff competitor for everyone here. So, the name is already big and strong in the media. So once a year you go up against Chris Gayle, it’s a different story. I’m sure it actually switched on even more when they played against the universe because it wants to beat the universe myself,” he added.

Chris Gayle is coming off a successful IPL 2020 with the bat. He turned the fortunes of Kings XI Punjab with three half-centuries in seven innings. The ‘Universe Boss’ has a claim to the greatest T20 batsman of all time- Gayle also has struck 1001 maximums and 22 hundreds in his 15-year T20 career. He will be seen in action soon in the Abu Dhabi T10 League.
