Chris Gayle, the opening batsman for the West Indies, has been confirmed to participate in the forthcoming second season of Legends League Cricket by the event’s organisers. In the shortest format of the game, Gayle holds the records for the most runs (now 10,000+), most hundreds, quickest hundred, and most fours and sixes.
His highest first-class score, which he made against Sri Lanka at Galle, made him only the fourth batsman after Don Bradman, Brian Lara, and Virender Sehwag to have two Test triples in their careers. The left-handed batter has amassed 15 Test hundreds and more than 7,000 runs across 103 matches, and he frequently wears the number 333 for many T20 franchises.
Chris Gayle Excited To Play With The Iconic Legends Of The Game
“It gives me immense pleasure and excitement to be part of this prestigious league and to play with the iconic legends of the game. India, see you at the venues,” said Gayle in an official statement.
Earlier, it was announced that six Indian towns will host the competition. The matches will be held in Kolkata, Lucknow, Delhi, Jodhpur, Cuttack, and Rajkot, and the event is scheduled to run from September 17 to October 8, 2022.
Three teams—India Maharajas, World Giants, and Asia Lions—played seven games in the league’s inaugural season in Muscat in January of this year.
There will be four franchise-owned clubs in the format for Season 2. The second season of the league will consist of 15 games, which will be held in these six locations.
