Controversy erupts! Mohammad Rizwan contradicts Fakhar Zaman's 'I'm fit' claim

Pakistan National Cricket Team white-ball captain Mohammad Rizwan provided an update about the opening batter Fakhar Zaman. He claimed that the batter has been dealing with the illness, and they are hopeful that he will be coming back soon.

Pakistan National Cricket Team batter Fakhar Zaman has been one of the hot topics going on in Pakistan Cricket. The batter has been out of the national team setup and is not getting a recall in the team even though he is continuously playing in domestic cricket.

Fakhar was dropped from the Pakistan team after he tweeted for Babar Azam after the batter was dropped from the Test team. He was issued the notice by the PCB and then wasn't included in the team for the Australia as well as Zimbabwe tour, where the team played ODIs and T20Is.

To worsen the case more for him, Fakhar was also dropped from the annual contract of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). But he has been grinding hard in the domestic circuit and is currently playing the Champions Cup T20 and is making a great impact.

Pakistan National Cricket Team, as well as the board, has faced a lot of criticism for not picking Fakhar. However, the management has consistently mentioned that the batter has been dealing with fitness issues and will be reconsidered once he is fit.

Things got more intense when Fakhar claimed that he was fit. The opening batter on the sidelines of Champions Cup T20 said that he is fit, that is why he is playing, and if given a chance for Pakistan, he will be happy.

But captain Mohammad Rizwan claimed that Fakhar is not being treated unfairly but the batter has been dealing with fitness issues. He also added that the batter is a character and a game-changer. Speaking to the media, he explained:

“I think the whole of Pakistan knows Fakhar Zaman, and there’s nothing personal about him that makes anyone feel like he’s being treated unfairly. From the conversations we’ve had among ourselves, everyone is hopeful about him because he is something different for Pakistan, he’s a character and a game-changer.”

Mohammad Rizwan added that Fakhar Zaman is unwell and has some kind of illness. He added that the batter has been advised by the team management to participate in the Champions Cup T20. He elaborated:

“I don’t think anyone knows that he’s unwell, basically. It’s not only a fitness issue, meaning it’s not like he failed a fitness test. From what I personally know, he’s unwell with something like a viral fever. Because of this illness, he’s been advised to participate in the ongoing T20 tournament in Pakistan." he concluded.
