Josh Inglis Will Bring Tactical Nous And A Positive Approach - George Bailey
Chief Selector George Bailey is confident that Inglis will bring a strong tactical nous to his new role as captain, with full support from senior players. Bailey stated that Inglis is an integral member of the ODI and T20I teams.
"Josh is an integral member of the ODI and T20I teams and a highly respected player on and off the field. He has led Australia A [Prime Minister's XI] previously and will bring strong tactical nous and a positive approach to the role," Bailey said, as quoted by cricket.com.au.
"Josh will receive great support from the likes of Matt Short and Adam Zampa, along with senior players including Glenn Maxwell and Marcus Stoinis," he added.
Josh Inglis was appointed as Australia's skipper ahead of senior players like Adam Zampa, Marcus Stoinis, and Glenn Maxwell. Inglis was the vice-captain for Perth Scorchers last season. He was a contender to take over the captaincy when Ashton Turner was injured, but Aaron Hardie was chosen instead.
