Cricket Australia Signs A Seven-Year Agreement With Disney Star To Broadcast Games In India

The Walt Disney Company-owned Disney Star and Cricket Australia (CA) on Sunday announced a new partnership to broadcast Australian cricket in India and other Asian countries.
In Australia, men’s and women’s international games, the Big Bash League (BBL), and the Women’s BBL will all be broadcast on Disney Star as part of a seven-year agreement beginning in 2023–2024.
CA believes the size of the channel will give it “enormous exposure.” “for both Australian cricket and CA’s business partners in Asia, the cricket world’s largest market.
The T20 Indian Premier League TV broadcast rights from 2023 to 2027 were also recently awarded to Disney Star. As a result of CA’s partnership with the IPL broadcaster, the BBL will receive extensive cross-promotion, among other advantages.

“By showcasing premier cricket on our linear and digital channels, Disney Star has delighted millions of Indian fans.
“The most unforgettable moments for Indian fans have been created in Australia, and we look forward to elevating many more such moments with our distinctive brand of story-telling, programming, local activations, and tech-enabled experiences in conjunction with Cricket Australia,” he continued.
The T20 Indian Premier League TV broadcast rights from 2023 to 2027 were also recently won by Disney Star.
