Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) will be up against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the 30th match of IPL 2025 on April 14 at Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow.
LSG earned come-from-behind victories against MI and KKR after getting off to a shaky start against DC in their first match of the tournament. The Rishabh Pant-led side will keep up the good work in the upcoming match against the Chennai Super Kings.
Meanwhile, the former champions CSK have found themselves in unfamiliar territory, having lost five matches in a row for the first time in the history of the tournament, and will look to get back to winning ways against LSG
CSK Playing 11 vs LSG- IPL 2025, Match 30:
Openers: Devon Conway and Rachin Ravindra
Devon Conway will open the innings for CSK along with Rachin Ravindra. The duo will look to rectify the mistakes of the last match against KKR and will look to play with an aggressive approach in the first six overs
As far as the performance of Rachin Ravindra is concerned, the left-hander started the tournament with a match-winning half-century against MI but hasn't been able to carry the form in the last few matches
Meanwhile, Conway, who scored a half-century against PBKS, has found himself in a similar situation to Ravindra and has been one of the CSK batters who have not lived up to the expectations of the Chennai Super Kings
Middle-order batsmen and all-rounders: Rahu Tripathi, Shivam Dube, Vijay Shankar, Ravindra Jadeja, MS Dhoni (C and wk)
The opening duo of Ravindra and Conway will be followed by Rahul Tripathi Gaikwad and Shivam Dube. Tripathi, who replaced Ruturaj Gaikwad in the last match against KKR, will look to make the most of the opportunity in the upcoming game against LSG
All-rounder Shivam Dube, who has been playing as an impact substitute for the last couple of seasons, was criticized for batting at a slow pace, especially in the final five overs against KKR, and would like to get that right in the match against LSG
Bowlers: Ravichandran Ashwin, Noor Ahmad, Matheesha Pathirana, Khaleel Ahmed, Anshul Kamboj
Chennai Super Kings would like their batters to put on a batter show against LSG for the bowlers to have a challenging score to defend, as Ashwin and co. had a small total of 103 to play against KKR.
Having said that, the spinners who were once considered the strength of Chennai Super Kings have not been able to deliver a solid performance in the tournament so far, with the trio of Ashwin, Jadeja, and Noor failing to hunt in a pack that has come to haunt the MS Dhoni-led side
Although CSK has two of the top five leading wicket-takers in the tournament at their disposal, the five-time champions have found it difficult to restrict the opposition below the score of 180 runs due to the inability to pick wickets in the middle and in the final five overs.
