Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will be up against the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the 62nd match of IPL 2025. This article provides details about CSK's Playing 11 vs Rajasthan Royals for match 62 of IPL 2025.
CSK Playing 11 vs Rajasthan Royals- IPL 2025, Match 62:
Openers: Shaik Rasheed and Ayush Mhatre
Ayush Mhatre and Shaik Rasheed will open the innings for Chennai Super Kings. The pair would like to give a strong start to the team in the game in the national capital.
Ayush, who grabbed the attention of experts and fans with an impressive innings of 94 runs against RCB, which almost took the team over the line, will look to replicate the performance.
Rasheed, on the other hand, has looked off-color in the last few encounters for the five-time champions and has failed to get a big score under his belt in the games succeeding his debut against LSG.
Middle-order batsmen and all-rounders: Urvil Patel, Ravindra Jadeja, Shivam Dube, Dewald Brevis, MS Dhoni (C/wk), Deepak Hooda
The opening duo of Rasheed and Mhatre will be followed by another young batter, Urvil Patel, and veteran Ravindra Jadeja, both of whom played with intent against KKR.
Urvil, in particular, came with positive intent after Chennai Super Kings lost early wickets and played a crucial role in maintaining a decent run rate in a tricky run chase at CSK's home ground.
Having said that, Patel will look to prolong his innings in the upcoming game against RR to give CSK the hope of retaining him for the next season.
Unlike their traditional approach of banking on experience, Chennai Super Kings has decided to go in with players like Dewald Brevis and Sam Curran to build the team for the future.
In a bid to rejig the team, CSK would be satisfied by the performance of South African batter Dewald Brevis, who was their mid-season signing.
Brevis has, in no time, made a name for himself as a hard-hitting batter who looks to take on the spinners in the middle overs of the game.
All things said, CSK would be aware of the performance of their top order against KKR and would hope for the top four batters to get things right against RR.
Bowlers: Noor Ahmad, Matheesha Pathirana, Khaleel Ahmed, Anshul Kamboj
It appeared as if Chennai Super Kings were able to identify what combination the MS Dhoni-led side would prefer going into the next IPL season, at least in the spin bowling department.
The trio of Noor, Jadeja, and Ashwin looked in control of things against the defending champions and strangled KKR's batting lineup in the middle overs.
The spinners will look to replicate the same performance against RR to end the season on a high.
The Chennai Super Kings' management would also want their fast bowlers to take the responsibility of picking wickets in the first six overs.
