On Saturday, November 15, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) officially announced the list of players they have retained and released ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 mini auction.
Chennai Super Kings were quite active in the trading window, and they made some massive moves. They parted ways with their legendary all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja as well as star pace-bowling all-rounder Sam Curran.
CSK traded the above-mentioned all-rounders to the Rajasthan Royals (RR) and, in exchange, secured the services of the former Rajasthan Royals (RR) wicketkeeper-batsman Sanju Samson, which will go down as one of the biggest trades in the history of the league.
The five-time also parted ways with their supremely talented Sri Lankan pacer Matheesha Pathirana, along with the New Zealand pair of Devon Conway and Rachin Ravindra.

How did CSK perform in IPL 2025?
Chennai Super Kings had a poor run in the Indian Premier League 2025, as they finished at the last position on the points table with 4 wins and 10 losses from 14 matches.
The five-time Indian Premier League (IPL) champions ended their campaign with 8 points and a -0.647 NRR, marking their worst season in the history of the competition.
CSK started the season with a win against the Mumbai Indians, but things quickly went downhill. They went on a long losing streak, facing defeats against RCB, RR, DC, PBKS, and KKR. Even in matches where they fought hard, the Super Kings ended up finishing on the losing side.
Their second win came against LSG, where they held their nerve in a tight chase, but once again, consistency was missing, and they went on to suffer a string of defeats against MI, SRH, PBKS, and RCB.
Chennai Super Kings' third victory came against KKR by 2 wickets, but again they lost their next match against RR by 6 wickets. In their final match, the Yellow Army produced their best performance and registered an 83-run win over the Gujarat Titans. Overall, CSK showed patches of quality but lacked rhythm and had a forgettable campaign.
