CSK vs LSG: Brain-fade moment! Watch - Ruturaj Gaikwad celebrates half-century at 49* as Devon Conway claps from stands

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad yet again stood tall for his team in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. The opening batter played a stupendous innings in the game against Lucknow Super Giants at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. 

Ruturaj Gaikwad looked in great touch right from the start with the bat. Despite wickets falling at the other end, the opening batter made sure that he kept his calm and played a magnificent innings for his team. The right-hander took the responsibility and led from the front at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. 

Ruturaj Gaikwad held the one end and made sure that he scored quick runs for his team against Lucknow Super Giants in the ongoing game. The batter put on a magnificent exhibition of high-class batting and made the crowd go berserk at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. 

However, he had a brain-fade moment as well in his innings. As the batter reached 49, he thought he scored a 50 and celebrated. The batter raised his bat. It happened after Devon Conway, who was in the stands, started clapping for him.

However, immediately after that, he realized that he hadn't reached his fifty. Ruturaj Gaikwad after that slammed his half-century and then didn't celebrate much. After that, he made sure that he didn't throw his start and took his team to a big total. 

Ruturaj Gaikwad then went on to slam a magnificent century with the bat. The opening batter shifted gears tremendously and then took the attack to the opposition bowlers at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The batter brought up his ton in just 55 balls and put LSG under pressure 

Ruturaj Gaikwad ended with an innings of unbeaten 108 runs off just 60 balls. He batted with the strike of 180 and also slammed 12 fours and 3 sixes in his innings. Apart from him, Shivam Dube supported him well with his 66-run knock as Chennai Super Kings posted a total of 210 runs on board at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

Ruturaj Gaikwad recently talked about the support that he got from his family. He stated that his family never doubted his ability and added that he has been grateful that he got support. Speaking to Star Sports, he explained: 

"You need support from your family, when you play in your city, sometimes you don't score, don't perform, and you don't want them to overburden you, talk to you about things like ‘why couldn’t you perform today?’ and I think that never happened from their side that they ever doubted my ability or they ever doubted my effort. So, I think in that sense I am really grateful that they have been supporting me right from the start," he concluded.
