During Chennai Super Kings' away game against Gujarat Titans, a fan intruded and fell into MS Dhoni's knees during the 2nd innings at the Narendra Modi stadium.

MS Dhoni had just walked into bat at number 8 when the fan took the risk to enter the World's largest cricket stadium amid the tight security. That particular moment stole the headlines as Dhoni was seen consoling the fan with the former CSK captain holding onto the fan before security officials took the fan away.

MS Dhoni wins hearts with his gesture towards the fan but CSK lost by 35 runs

In what was touted to be his final game at the Narendra Modi stadium, MS Dhoni gave his fans a treat before calling time on his IPL career. As Dhoni walked into the middle to bat at a crucial situation, he first won the hearts with his gesture towards the intruding fan. Then he entertained the crowd with his range-hitting ability in Ahmedabad.

Shockingly there weren't many CSK fans yesterday at the venue. However, there was enough support for MS Dhoni, who is most probably playing his final IPL season. But in his final game at the Narendra Modi stadium, Dhoni could not help his team win the match but he did display the mettle he has in him.

The Gujarat Titans had posted a massive target of 232 runs on the back of Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan's double-century partnership for the first wicket. While Gill scored a man-of-the-match-winning 104 off 55 deliveries, Sudharsan smashed 103 off 51.

The duo had stood for a partnership of 210 runs before Tushar Deshpande claimed their wickets in the 2nd and 6th ball of the 18th over. Then David Miller's 16 off 11 ensured that GT posted a competitive total on the board for Ruturaj Gaikwad's side to win.

In response, CSK got off to the worst possible start to their innings as they were reduced to 3 wickets for just 10 runs by the end of 3rd over. Ajinkya Rahane and Rachin Ravindra scored a run each while Gaikwad left the crease for a 3-ball duck. Daryl Mitchell then stood for a solid partnership of 109 runs before the Kiwi was dismissed by Mohit Sharma for 63.

One over later, Moeen Ali was also sent back by Mohit Sharma for a score of 56 while Shivam Dube and Ravindra Jadeja disappointed with their 21 and 18 runs respectively. After Dube's wicket, MS Dhoni walked in the middle and smashed a gruesome 26 off 11 at a strike rate of 236.36 but his efforts weren't enough as CSK were restricted to 196.

As a result, Gujarat clinched victory by 35 runs in the replay of the IPL 2023 final at the same venue. MS Dhoni and CSK are currently in dire need of winning their last two games to have any chance to qualify for the knockout round of IPL 2024.
