Former India and Chennai Super Kings batsman Suresh Raina has delivered a big update on MS Dhoni's future in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

CSK, on Sunday (May 12), played their last league game in Chennai as they locked horns against Rajasthan Royals at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. During the game, Suresh Raina was plying his trade as a commentator. As the game was going on, he was asked by former India opener Abhinav Mukund if the game against the Royals would be MS Dhoni's last in Chennai.

"Obviously, I have to ask you this question. Is this MS Dhoni's last game here at Chepauk?" Mukund asked.

In reply, Suresh Raina came up with MS Dhoni's famous phrase, saying: "Definitely Not".

For those who don't know, MS Dhoni came up with an exact response in 2020 when presenter Danny Morrison had asked him if it was his last season as a player in the IPL. He was asked the same question last season too after he led CSK to a record-equaling fifth IPL title. In reply, MS Dhoni had said that he wanted to play at least one more season for the fans.

Watch as Suresh Raina delivers an update on MS Dhoni's IPL future:

Meanwhile, MS Dhoni as well as CSK can still play in Chennai this season if they manage to make it to the playoffs. The Qualifier 2 and the final of the season will be played in Chennai while Ahmedabad will host the Qualifier 1 and Eliminator.

CSK have bolstered their playoffs chances by thrashing Rajasthan Royals by five wickets on Sunday. Batting first, RR finished their innings on 141/5. In reply, CSK chased down the total in 19 overs by losing five wickets. It is CSK's seventh win of the season in 13 games. They are currently at the third spot in the IPL 2024 points table.
