Tushar Deshpande, on Sunday (May 12), pulled off a fine sliding catch to dismiss the dangerous Jos Buttler in the ongoing game between Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

RR captain Sanju Samson won the toss and opted to bat first. Yashasvi Jaiswal and Buttler added 43 runs for the first wicket before both of them departed in quick succession. Simarjeet Singh dismissed Jaiswal for 24 runs to give CSK the much-needed first breakthrough.

Six runs later, Tushar Deshpande came up with the fine effort to send back Buttler as well. The England star was batting on 21 runs off 24 balls and decided to play an unorthodox shot in order to accelerate. However, the shot did not yield the desired result as he ended up losing his wicket.

On the first ball of the ninth over, Simarjeet Singh bowled a full delivery and Buttler decided to play a scoop shot. The RR opener, however, could not make a good connection with the ball and miscued it towards fine leg where Tushar Deshpande ran towards his right before completing a fine sliding catch.

Talking about the game, RR were on 89 for 2 at the end of the 14th over with captain Sanju Samson and Riyan Parag batting in the middle. RR would be looking to finish strongly and post a winning total in order to get back to winning ways.

While RR are at the second spot in the points table and are looking set to qualify for the playoffs, their form will be a major concern for the team management. They have lost their last two games and have started poorly in the ongoing game as well.

A win today will make RR the second team after Kolkata Knight Riders to make it to the playoffs. CSK, on the other hand, are looking to bounce back after losing their last game by 35 runs against Gujarat Titans.
