Australian all-rounder Dan Christian, who recently helped Sydney Sixers to win the Big Bash League (BBL), is still hoping of representing his nation in the shortest format. He played a vital part in the winning campaign for his side and was named in the BBL’s official team of the season. Despite his excellent performances, Dan Christian missed out from the squad for the upcoming New Zealand T20 series.

During the BBL 10, Dan Christian managed to pick up 15 wickets in 14 matches at an economy of 8.84 given that he bowls in the death overs a lot. Apart from his smart bowling, Christian is an excellent finisher with the bat and amassed 272 runs at a phenomenal strike rate of 182.5 and at an average of above 34. Christian who has a lot of experience in the domestic circuit can tonk it out of the stadium with his big-hitting skills.

Dan Christian Puts His Name In Front Of The Selectors

Dan Christian told that he is still performing a lot to put his name in the front of the selectors and to return to the Australian T20 squad. He told the importance of contributions in winning cause and his ability to keep that going throughout this season should earn him a place in the Australian squad.

“Of course, it’s still alive (On representing Australia). I feel like I’ve been in good enough nick throughout the BBL to keep my name in front of the selectors. Contributing to wins I think is one of the most important qualities you can have as a player, and I feel like I’ve done that this season and I feel like I could still do that in the Australian T20 team as well,” Daniel Christian said.

“Age Is Just A Number For Him” – Moises Henriques on Christian

The BBL winning captain Moises Henriques has praised Daniel Christian on his performances for the team and he wants to exclude the age factor from the 37-year-old Dan Christian as he is fit still. Henriques told that Christian is playing his best cricket now and he wants the selectors to consider Dan Christian during the selection.

“The way that he’s playing at the moment, contributing in almost every game that he plays in … age is just a number, I think Daniel is playing as good cricket as he ever has … so it’d be silly to say not to consider him if he’s still just achieving some of his best stuff now,” said Moises Henriques.
