Warner, on Sunday, took to his official Instagram account to engage with his fans via a Question-Answer session.
And, among a whole host of questions that he was bombarded with, one of them was with regards to his favorite batsman.
Warner started off by stating that there are a lot of batters that he admires but if he has to pick one, then it’s got to be ‘Mr 360’ AB de Villiers purely because of his ability to transform his game and match his skills as per the demands of a format.
“Obviously there are a lot of players out there but one of my favorites to watch is AB de Villiers. All three formats, exceptional player, great person and, yeah, can take the game away from you at any stage” said David Warner.
AB de Villiers will go down in history as one of the greatest batters to play this beautiful game.
Blessed with the ability to play shots all around the ground backed by a solid defense that enabled to shot shop as and when the situation of the game demanded, AB de Villiers is one of the most complete players of the modern era.
ABD, who announced a shock retirement from international cricket during the summer of 2018, represented South Africa in 114 Tests, 228 ODIs, and 79 T20Is, scoring 8765, 9577, and 1672 runs respectively. He racked up 22 tons in the longest format of the game besides accumulating 25 of them in 50-over cricket and at a strike rate of 101 to go along with the average of 53.5.
AB de Villiers still continues to enthrall his millions of fans in the IPL where he represents the Royal Challengers Bangalore.
AB has thus far featured in 176 IPL games and has scored 5056 runs at an average of 40.77 and a strike rate of 152.38 with 43 50-plus scores which also includes three tons.
AB will return to the cricket field in mid-September when the second phase of IPL 2021 gets underway in the UAE.
