David Wiese drops colossal remarks on fight between Shaheen Afridi and PCB

Lahore Qalandars pacer David Wiese revealed about things not being right between the Pakistan Cricket Board and the fast bowler Shaheen Afridi. He said that a few poor performances don't make him bad, and he is still the same as he was before.

Shaheen Afridi has been having a tough time of late in the international cricket. The fast bowler has been sidelined from the Tests as well as ODIs. This was because he was having a tough time with Pakistan National Cricket Team across the formats.

There were also reports that Afridi had been causing indiscipline in the team, and team management wasn't happy about that. The fast bowler was first dropped from the Test team and then recently was axed from the ODI team for the New Zealand series.

However, in the ongoing Pakistan Super League, Afridi has been sensational with the ball. The left-arm pacer has been providing his team with crucial breakthroughs both in the powerplay as well as in death overs, helping his team win.

David Wiese, who is Shaheen Afridi's teammate at Lahore Qalandars, said that there are things going on between Pakistan Cricket and him. But it doesn't mean that he is not the same player. He said that the fast bowler has been putting in the hard yards and he wants to play only under him in the league. Speaking to reporters, he said:

"Yeah, look, obviously there's been a couple of things going on with him in Pakistan, not playing the last couple of series. But, you know, you would never say that he's the exact same Shaheen that I know around the group. He's practicing hard. He's, you know, as captain, he's the leader that we expect him to be. And he's the national leader that he is.

"So, you know, again, just because you haven't been putting in good performances, or, you know, you've been struggling with performances, doesn't make you a bad bowler or a bad player or anything. Again, you know, he's world class. He is the first name on the team sheet that I'll have the whole time. And he's the only captain that I would like to play for in the PSL."

David Wiese also talked about PCB taking captaincy from Shaheen Afridi after 5 games. He said that it was unfair to sack him without giving a longer run. He told PakPassion:

"You know Pakistan and the politics that goes into selection. There's a lot of turmoil going on there at this stage. I did feel like it was a little bit harsh on him for them to take it away so soon."
