England batsman Dawid Malan is creating records with the bat in the T20I format and in the fifth ODI of the five-match series against India, he broke the world record previously held by India’s Virat Kohli and Pakistan’s Babar Azam.
England captain Eoin Morgan won the toss and chose to field first. However, the ploy backfired badly, as Indian openers Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma added 94 runs for the first wicket. Rohit Sharma was the aggressor of the two, hitting 64 in 34 balls with 4 fours and 5 sixes to his name.
England then had a worse start, losing Jason Roy for a duck on the second ball of their innings. Then came a 130-run partnership between Jos Buttler and Dawid Malan, who looked to take the game away from India, it seemed. But the partnership was broken by Bhuvneshwar Kumar, having Buttler caught by Hardik Pandya for 52 with 4 sixes and 2 fours in 34 balls.
Dawid Malan Becomes The Fastest Batsman To 1,000 Runs In T20Is
Dawid Malan who came in at no.3 for England, made 68 runs in 46 balls with 9 fours and 2 sixes, contributing 65 runs in the partnership with Jos Buttler. However, during his innings, Dawid Malan became the fastest batsman to reach the 1,000-run milestone in the T20I format.

He broke the world record previously held by India captain Virat Kohli who reached the 1,000-run mark in 27 innings and Pakistan captain Babar Azam, who reached the 1,000-run mark in 26 innings. However, Malan left both the batting wizards behind, as he reached the 1,000-run milestone in just his 24th T20I innings.
