Young Delhi Capitals (DC) opening batter Jake Fraser-McGurk revealed his most memorable six in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season. Jake Fraser-McGurk stated that his six against SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) leg spinner Mayank Markande left a lasting impression on him.

Jake Fraser-McGurk is at his best for the Rishabh Pant-led team in the prestigious tournament. The right-handed batter has scored 330 runs in eight innings at an impressive average of 41.25 and a strike rate of 237.41, including four fifties. Notably, he missed the first five matches in IPL 2024.

The Delhi Capitals will take on the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in their final league stage match at their home ground, Arun Jaitley Stadium, on Tuesday, May 14. Fraser-McGurk will be hoping to end the ongoing tournament with an impressive knock in the do-or-die match for the Capitals.

It Was Against A Leg Spinner - Jake Fraser-McGurk

In a video shared by The Grade Cricketer on X (formerly known as Twitter), Jake Fraser-McGurk picked his six against Mayank Markande as his most memorable six of the IPL. Fraser-McGurk stated that he played it off the back foot when the bowler delivered it full.

"What's the six you've hit so far in this tournament that you're thinking about in the shower every morning?" asks the host.

"It was against a leg spinner against SunRisers Hyderabad. He bowled it like full and I sort of played it off the back stool and hit it over mid-off. I didn't mean anything by it," Jake Fraser-McGurk said.

During the match against SunRisers Hyderabad, Fraser-McGurk scored 65 runs from 18 balls with a striking rate of 361.11, which included seven sixes and five boundaries. The right-handed batter was dismissed by Mayank Markande as he was caught by wicketkeeper Heinrich Klaasen.

The Rate At Which Jake Fraser-McGurk Scores The Runs Is Impressive - Brett Lee

Brett Lee praised Jake Fraser-McGurk for his impressive scoring rate, highlighting his ability to score off the first ball. Lee also highlighted the unfortunate run-out incident in a previous game, which dented their winning chances against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).

"The rate at which he scores the runs is impressive. A six of the first ball he faced today. There are times when it's about luck. If you think about the previous game, Shai Hope was run out in the exact same way. It's a freak way to get out and unfortunately, it really put a dent in the run chase for the Delhi Capitals because he's the one guy who could have gone on to get that total," Brett Lee said on Jio Cinema.

Fraser-McGurk was run out at the non-striker's end off Yash Dayal's bowling. The 22-year-old scored 21 runs off eight balls when Dayal deflected the ball onto the stumps at the non-striker’s end. DC struggled to maintain momentum and were eventually bowled out for 140 in the 188-run chase.
