Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) skipper KL Rahul stepped up big time for his team on the field in the ongoing game against Delhi Capitals (DC) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. The match between the two teams is taking place at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

Delhi Capitals, who were asked to bat first, had a great start to their innings even though they lost Jake Fraser-McGurk early. The duo of Abishek Porel and Shai Hope made sure that they took the attack to the Lucknow Super Giants bowlers and got some quick runs for the team at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

Shai Hope in particular looked solid and was shaping up for a big knock. With the way he was going, it needed something special to take his wicket and Lucknow Super Giants skipper KL Rahul did exactly that. The keeper-batter, who is fielding today, came up with a brilliant effort.

During the 2nd ball of the 9th over, Ravi Bishnoi bowled a flatter delivery outside off. Shai Hope opened his arms and slapped it straight to cover. He hit the ball hard towards KL Rahul, who was in an awkward position at the covers.

The ball went quickly to him but popped out of his hand. The ball lobbed to his right and then moved quickly and put in a fantastic dive to take the catch with both hands before the ball hit the ground.  What caught the attention of many was the reaction of Sanjiv Goenka as he applauded the efforts of the skipper.

Here's the video:
