Tristan Stubbs, on Tuesday (May 14), played a fine knock to power Delhi Capitals to a big score in the ongoing do-or-die clash against Lucknow Super Giants at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

The right-handed batsman scored an unbeaten 57 runs to take DC to a big total of 208 for 4 in 20 overs. His knock came off just 25 balls and was studded with three fours and four sixes. At one stage, Tristan Stubbs was batting on 7 runs from 9 balls but shifted gears at the right time.

He broke the shackles in the 16th over by hitting Arshad Khan for two fours and a six. In the 18th over, the South Africa star hit Naveen-ul-Haq for two sixes and a four to complete his fifty in just 22 balls. However, he could not play the big shots in the final over and did not shy away from venting his frustration over the same.

Tristan Stubbs faced two deliveries in the final over but could not hit any one of them for a six or a four. And when he failed to send the ball over the boundary on the last delivery of the innings, he punched his bat in anger.

Apart from Tristan Stubbs, Abishek Porel also played a crucial knock for DC. The left-handed batsman scored 58 runs from 33 balls with the help of five fours and four sixes.

"It was quite tough when I walked in. I could not get myself on some intensity, but once I got going it started to flow. I always feel like I can give myself a bit of time and then catch up. You never know on this ground, but it is stopping a bit and hopefully it is enough. Just playing in front of so many people is incredible," said Stubbs.
