Deepak Chahar Bought By Mumbai Indians For INR 9.25 crore at IPL Auction 2025

Deepak Chahar has registered himself for the IPL 2025 mega auction at the base price of INR 2 crore. The right-arm pacer played for Chennai Super Kings in the last season of the IPL.
The pacer's journey in the IPL began with the now-defunct Rising Pune Supergiant in 2016. He played for the Pune-based outfit in his first two IPL seasons. In 2016, he played only 2 games before playing 3 games in the 2017 edition.
He has been playing only for Chennai Super Kings since 2018. In IPL 2018, Deepak picked up 10 wickets in 12 games and helped the Chennai-based outfit win the title. In the next season, the Rajasthan pacer claimed an impressive 22 wickets in 17 games.
In IPL 2020 and 2021, he picked up 12 and 14 wickets respectively. Chahar missed the entire season in 2022 due to a back injury before playing 10 games in 2023. He suffered an injury setback in 2024 as well and managed to play only 8 games. Overall, Chahar has played 81 games in the IPL and has taken 77 wickets.

Mumbai Indians have signed up Deepak Chahar for INR 9.25 crore at the IPL 2025 mega auction. Mumbai Indians and Punjab Kings made the early bids for the pacer.
Just before the price reached the 8 crore mark, Punjab Kings decided to pull out. Chennai Super Kings then made a few bids but were eventually outbid by Mumbai Indians.
