The Women’s Asia Cup 2026 is currently ongoing, with the high-voltage clash between India and Pakistan set to take place on Saturday at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai. Ahead of the high-pressure match, India Women’s National Cricket Team all-rounder Deepti Sharma has shared her insights about the match and focused more on the team’s overall performance.
The match is scheduled to start at 8:00 PM IST, and Harmanpreet Kaur’s side has dominated the fixture as they are 13-3 up against their arch-rivals in the WT20I format. This showcases their strength, and Women in Blue have been in sensational form, having won two out of two matches so far. They would like to win the last match and qualify for the semi-finals.

Ahead of the India vs Pakistan clash, Deepti Sharma was present at the pre-match press conference, sharing the importance of the match and believing that they have to win this game anyhow; whether in the Asia Cup or any other major tournament matches, they are always one step ahead of the Women in Green. She believes that they are a more balanced side.
"Look, there is no advantage as such. The only thing is that whatever we have won against them (Pakistan), whether it’s the Asia Cup or any other matches, we are always one step ahead of them," Deepti said (as quoted by NDTV) while speaking at the pre-match press conference.
"And that is it. The whole team is performing well. If you look at the bowling unit or the batting unit, I think both things are balanced. The one who has a good day, she tries to do better and take the game further," Deepti added.

When asked about the Pakistan team, Deepti stated that the Women in Green also have a good team and their bowlers are also very good and can create more problems. But she also revealed that Team India focuses more on themselves and sticks to their strength. They want to play good cricket on Saturday and win the match
She said, "Look, our team is also good and their bowlers are also good. We know that. But we focus more on the strengths we have. And as I said, we want to play a good brand of cricket. That's what we are focusing on.
"We just want to play good cricket. As a bowling unit, as a batting unit, the team should be as compact as we are playing in two games. That's the mindset," said Deepti Sharma.
Deepti Sharma praises young India spinners
Apart from that, she provided an update on India’s combination. She refused to comment on the team combination that Harmanpreet Kaur and the management will field.
She said on being asked about India’s combination for the high-voltage clash, "That's the call of the management."
Deepti Sharma also praised both her spin partners in this tournament, left-arm spinner Shree Charani and leg-spinner Prema Rawat, as both have performed well so far in this competition. She also stated how she helps the young spinners with her valuable experience in the game.
"Charani is a very good talent. He is number one in the rankings. She has performed very well in the last year. The way she turns the ball, unbelievable. It's not easy to play for a batter.
"It's the same with Prema. She has not played so many matches. But whenever she gets a chance to bowl, she is always one step ahead. It's like 'I have to find breakthroughs for the team'."
