Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant has shared his views on the controversial incident between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) captain KL Rahul and team owner Sanjiv Goenka in the IPL 2024.

Goenka was seen venting his anger at Rahul after LSG’s crucial IPL 2024 match against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), while the latter was calmly handling the situation.

The incident unfolded after SRH handed LSG a crushing defeat by 10 wickets, sparking heated words and gestures from Goenka caught on camera while Rahul was seen dejected.

Amid widespread speculation, LSG's coach Justin Langer downplayed the incident, describing Goenka as typically composed and attributing the exchange to the natural intensity of post-match discussions.

Pant, reflecting on the incident, acknowledged that such exchanges are common after defeats but said that he doesn’t know or have witnessed what actually happened between Goenka and Rahul.

Discussing his own experiences with post-match reviews, Pant revealed that receiving strong feedback and criticism is part of the game, and he handles such things with his own approach.

Rishabh Pant said on India TV’s famous show 'Aap ki Adalat': “I actually didn't understand what happened in that situation. It seemed so by looking at it, and although I'm not sure what happened, there was something there. When you lose a match, there are obviously a lot of conversations. But the way it was portrayed, I'm not sure. I didn't see the video in real-time; otherwise, I would have given you an answer. I get scolded every day, but I'm also stubborn.”

Meanwhile, Pant is currently with the Indian cricket team on the Caribbean shores, where they are currently preparing for the Super-8 stages of the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2024. India qualified for the next round of the tournament after a dominating display on the ground, and the star wicketkeeper-batter played a crucial role in the team’s progression.

The left-handed batter has been impressive both as a batter and wicketkeeper in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024. He has been promoted to the number three spot in the batting, and this proved a masterstroke for India, as Pant has been repaying the trust shown by the team with his impressive batting.

Pant has so far amassed 96 runs in his three outings in the showpiece event. India were unbeaten in the group stage, winning against Ireland, Pakistan, and the USA to make the Super Eight stage of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024.

However, Team India’s last group match against Canada was called off due to poor weather conditions in Florida. The Men in Blue will kick off their Super-8 campaign against Afghanistan on June 20 in Barbados.
