DDCA And Capitals Have Put That As A Priority – Reports

DC co-owner Parth Jindal and DDCA president Rohan Jaitley met to enhance the crowd experience at Arun Jaitley Stadium. They came to an agreement after the meeting for the Capitals to be more involved in facility management throughout the year.

“There have been discussions to set up two classy hospitality boxes in the stadium. The idea is to set up temporary boxes by the World Cup and finish the project by the next IPL. The stadium has received many complaints with regards to crowd experience during matches. DDCA and Capitals have put that as a priority,” a source told the TOI.

“Football stadiums in Europe are managed by corporates to maintain facilities for their club teams. This move will be somewhat in that direction. Now with the Women’s Premier League set to be played in the home-and-away format, Capitals will need the stadium for more than just two months of IPL,” the source added.

The Arun Jaitley Stadium was announced as one of the venues for the ODI World Cup 2023. The venue will host a total of five matches in the marquee event, including India’s league-stage match against Afghanistan on October 11.

Sourav Ganguly Takes Key Interest – Reports

The report further added that the Delhi Capitals’ director of cricket, Sourav Ganguly, has taken the initiative to upgrade the stadium to get it in good shape for the IPL and international matches.

“DDCA doesn’t have another ground and it has to organize men and women’s camps at the stadium besides organizing matches. The Capitals management will be coordinating with DDCA to manage the load on the stadium in the future,” the source said.

The BCCI didn’t allocate any matches to the Arun Jaitley Stadium for India’s jam-packed 2023–24 international home season. The board decided to give matches to other stadiums that won’t be hosting the World Cup matches.
