The Delhi Police took a brutal dig at the Pakistan National team after their loss to Rohit Sharma's team India in the Group stages of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.

It was India and Pakistan's 8th meeting overall across all the ICC T20 World Cup events from 2007 onwards. The Men in Blue, who were on the verge of losing yesterday, registered a shocking but bowling-wise convincing game at the Nassau County Stadium in New York. Rohit Sharma's side had only posted 120 runs as the target for the Babar Azam-led side on what was an extremely slow surface.

The match as it went

India's 1st innings score of 119, which was below expectations, has become the team's lowest-ever score in ICC T20 World Cup history. When the 2nd innings had begun, not many were backing Rohit Sharma and his bowlers to win the match. Just like it happened in the 2022 T20 World Cup edition, the win predictor was displaying that India only has 2-3% of winning chances.

While Virat Kohli was the one who had guided India to the 4-wicket victory in Melbourne 2 years ago, yesterday's hero was senior pacer Jasprit Bumrah. The right-arm seamer delivered a fantastic spell of 4 wickets which also included a few important wickets. Thanks to his performance, India won the match with Bumrah himself becoming the man of the match.

Jasprit Bumrah proved to be the ultimate match-winner, all thanks to his spell of 3/14 from 4 overs. Mohammed Siraj was the second-best Indian bowler with an economy of just 4. Arshdeep Singh also had a great outing at the Nassau County stadium in New York as he maintained a rate of less than 5 an over and picked the important wicket of Imad Wasim.

Elsewhere, Hardik Pandya bowled all 4 overs, conceded just 24 runs, and amassed 2 wickets. Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel bowled two overs each with the latter claiming one wicket and the left-arm duo had an economy rate of less than 6. So overall the bowling department did extremely well to restrict Pakistan from not equalling the target.

Credits must also go to Rohit Sharma, who displayed very good captaincy skills and he will be a happy man, too, for how his bowlers repaid the faith.

What did Delhi Police say?

Following India's 6-run victory, the Delhi Police X (formerly Twitter) admin chose to take a dig at the Pakistani team with a hilarious post. They tagged the Police department over there in New York and wrote that they heard two loud noises one being from the Indian supporters and the other from Pakistani supporters.

While the Indian fans were screaming "Indiaaaa..India, the Pakistani were making loud noises by breaking their televisions like they always do after losing. "Hey, @NYPDnewsWe heard two loud noises. One is "Indiaaa..India!", and another is probably of broken televisions. Can you please confirm?"
