Ravichandran Ashwin is drawing praise from all over for his love of the game. Just days after returning to India after being away from home for nearly two months, the ace spinner has been plying his trade in the TNCA Division 1.
The off-spinner has been playing non-stop cricket since the beginning of the year. He played in all the four Tests against Australia at home before plying his trade for Rajasthan Royals in the IPL. Ravichandran Ashwin then went to England for the World Test Championship Final although he could not get a place in the playing eleven for the clash against Australia.
After a small break, Ravichandran Ashwin and his teammates went to the Caribbeans for the Test series. Soon after the completion of the Test series, the veteran spinner returned home as he is not a member of the ODI and T20I squads. And while most of the players prefer to take rest and spend time with family during breaks, Ravichandran Ashwin has decided otherwise.
Ravichandran Ashwin plays in TNCA Division 1:
Within a week of returning home from the Caribbean, Ravichandran Ashwin has started playing competitive cricket once again. On Thursday (August 3), he began playing for the Mylapore Recreaton Club A against Youngstars Cricket Club in TNCA Division 1 match. Ashwin is leading the team in the competition.

One of the rare cricketers who plays in each & every game when there is an opportunity and share experience with youngsters – massive respect for Ashwin. pic.twitter.com/EnoxBW4Oym

Last year too, he had decided to represent MRC in the TNCA Division 1, just a week after playing the IPL final with Rajasthan Royals. He had played in the semifinals and finals and led the club to its maiden title.
“We are just at 1/10 now. The goal is to probably win more titles in the next 10 years. Winning titles do not happen overnight. But We have a vision; we had a goal,” Ravichandran Ashwin had said after the title triumph.
Meanwhile, the Indian cricket fraternity has lavished praise on Ravichandran Ashwin for his commitment to the game. Here are some of the reactions:

This is the best example of promoting domestic cricket and it's seriousness @ashwinravi99. I remember @virendersehwag and @GautamGambhir once taking a long flight back after international series and playing Ranji trophy for @delhi_cricket the very next day. It's pure commitment https://t.co/Jl7x101pmv

Unbelievable commitment from Ash. Sadly, goes under the radar. Extremely difficult for a world's number 1 ranked cricketer, in the peak of his game to be motivated to play club cricket. This man is gonna give back 100x to the game once he retires.. https://t.co/RIRCDCL7hQ
