The clashes and the confrontations between India and Pakistan over the handshake row have taken the form of a massive controversy, and after the PCB statement, the BCCI secretary, Devajit Saikia, has come forward with an unbothered response to it.

India beat Pakistan by seven wickets on Sunday to clinch their second win of the tournament. The men in blue with this massive win have also made it to the Super-4 stage; however, Pakistan are currently in the shadow of elimination.

The Sunday clash in the Asia Cup 2025 is still the talk of the town. Suryakumar Yadav's men denied the Pakistan players a formal handshake at the end of the game, which left the opposition players humiliated.

Devajit Saikia opens up on the India-Pakistan controversy in the Asia Cup

Speaking on the matter, the BCCI secretary, Devajit Saikia, said that one must focus on celebrating India's thumping win. He has also asked the fans, as well as players, not to focus on what third parties or hostile nations say.

"I can only say that India won handsomely. It was a thumping victory for the Indian team. Nothing more. Nothing less. That's all. India won the match so comfortably. We should be enjoying that rather than focusing on all that noise created by some third party or hostile countries.

"We should not be bothered by it. Instead, we should appreciate and feel proud of our boys for doing so well. We hope the winning momentum will continue till the last match of this tournament," Devajit Saikia told IANS on the controversy after the India-Pakistan Asia Cup game in Dubai.

PCB to suffer a massive financial blow if they boycott the Asia Cup

The Pakistan Cricket Board has reported the massive issue at the India vs Pakistan match to the ICC. The PCB chief, Mohsin Naqvi, who currently also holds the chair of the Asian Cricket Council, has urged the ICC to replace the match referee, Andy Pycroft.

They have informed the international body that Pycroft misled the Pakistan team by not informing them of the snub of handshakes during the conclusion of the game, while the Indian players walked back, leaving the PAK players baffled.

However, the ICC has denied their plea, as a result of which the PCB had threatened to boycott the upcoming match against the UAE. However, the latest reports have suggested that PCB might incur a massive loss of nearly 140+ crores if they decide to boycott the Asia Cup.

Broadcasters to be affected if Pakistan quit before the Super-4

SonyLiv, which took up the broadcasting rights in the tournament from the Asian Cricket Council, expected to mark multiple games in the competition between the rival nations India and Pakistan.

However, if Pakistan opt out of the tournament, then the Asia Cup 2025 will no longer witness an India vs Pakistan contest in the Super-4 stages. This would result in losses incurred by the broadcasters.
