Yashasvi Jaiswal is all set for his biggest challenge yet as India prepares to take on Australia in the highly anticipated Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25.

The 22-year-old, who has been in stellar form on home soil, embarked on his first-ever Australia tour and is keen on making it a memorable one.

The young Indian opener, who is known for his aggressive yet composed style of batting, has openly expressed his admiration for the batting icon Virat Kohli.

Virat Kohli advises him on how to manage himself and maintain discipline which is the most important thing to sustain a long and successful career.

After a memorable domestic season and a less-than-ideal first overseas tour in South Africa, Yashasvi Jaiswal is now looking to make his mark in the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 in Australia.

Yashasvi Jaiswal said in a video posted by the BCCI on its official website: “When I started playing senior cricket, I did speak to Virat Paaji about how he managed himself. Paaji has said to me that if I want to play all that cricket, then I have to be disciplined in my daily routines and follow the process."

"So, I have seen him doing the stuff consistently day by day. Actually, seeing him, it motivates me a lot to put in the work and do something and make a difference in my habits, which is really important for me. I feel like I will be better day by day.”

Meanwhile, Yashasvi Jaiswal expressed his excitement about playing in Australia for the first time. He is eager to perform well and is aware of the differences in the conditions. The young Indian opener believes the Indian cricket team is mentally prepared, and he feels fortunate to have this opportunity.

Jaiswal signed off by saying, “It is my first trip to Australia. I am very excited to play here and I want to play well and do well. It is different here. The ball is different; the wicket is different. But I think we know that. I think we are ready mentally and I am really blessed to have these opportunities. and I am ready for it mentally and physically. I want to play fearlessly, and I want to enjoy.”
