Dilshan Madhushanka Bought By Mumbai Indians For 4.60 Crores In IPL Auction 2024

Sri Lanka fast-bowler Dilshan Madhushanka, on Tuesday (December 19), earned his maiden IPL contract and will ply his trade for Mumbai Indians in the next season of the tournament.
The left-arm bowler had registered himself at a base price of Rs 50 lakh. Lucknow Super Giants and Mumbai Indians showed interest in him before the latter won the bidding race. The five-time IPL champion secured his services for Rs 4.60 crores.

Dilshan Madhushanka first caught the attention with his brilliant performance in Sri Lanka’s victorious campaign in the 2022 Asia Cup. During the competition, he castled Virat Kohli and played a key role in his team’s title-winning campaign.
And the left-arm pacer recently enhanced his reputation by doing well in the World Cup. While Sri Lanka struggled to do well throughout the competition, Dilshan Madhushanka enjoyed a good outing. He finished the World Cup as the third-highest wicket-taker. The 23-year-old picked up 21 wickets in 9 games while maintaining an economy rate of less than 7. He also picked up a five-wicket haul against India.
