Bhuvneshwar Kumar has made a comeback to the India National Cricket Team after four years. He has been included in the T20I squad for the forthcoming New Zealand five-match series. After the selection of the veteran pacer, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) batting coach Dinesh Karthik was happy and shared his insights on the same.

Bhuvi has not been in the scheme of things for the Men in Blue side post 2022. Despite exceptional performances in the last two TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) competitions. He would want to make full use of the chance and answer all his critics and people who have left him out of the team for a long time.

"I wanted it to happen": Dinesh Karthik on Bhuvneshwar being selected in T20I series vs New Zealand

While speaking on Cricbuzz, Dinesh Karthik stated that he really wanted Bhuvneshwar Kumar to be back in the Indian squad, and he is happy after the pacer made a comeback to the side. He also compares him with Jasprit Bumrah as he feels that Bhuvi has been more consistent than Bumrah in the last two seasons of the IPL.

He said via Cricbuzz, "I wanted it to happen. Yes, but I can't say I saw it coming. But I'm so happy for him. He's so deserving of that place and that Indian team because he's been the best bowler for of the IPL without a doubt. As an Indian fast bowler, he's been the most consistent."

"Even it's fair to say even Bumrah hasn't been as consistent as Bhuvi has been in this last two seasons. Bumrah is a genius. We all know, and that's exactly what Bhuvi has shown is one of the reasons why RCB has done so well in the last two seasons."

"We speak about a lot of batting": Dinesh Karthik on India being a batting-heavy side

Dinesh Karthik, while further speaking on India’s batting-heavy side, believes that the bowling of the Men in Blue side has been very good as well, with most of that coming from Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Karthik believes that he is the nicest guy in the game and can handle the pressure as well.

Karthik said, "We speak about a lot of batting and our bowling being solid as well, a good chunk of that came from Bhuvneshwar Kumar very experienced person and you can't be happy for him. He's one of the nicest guys going around, pleasant demeanour. Can handle pressure very well, swings the ball both ways and he's bowling quick as well."

"And it's good on the Indian selectors to remove the age factor out of it and see what is the skill? What can you bring to the table? Yes, you know what, we can look at him for the LA Olympics and for the World Cup that's coming in a few months' time. But let's get him on that flight to New Zealand because India need a high-quality fast bowler and there aren't any."

Can Bhuvneshwar Kumar turn it around once again?

Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been brilliant and was added to the Hong Kong Sixes side for India and was also made the captain. But now, with him coming back to the Men in Blue setup, he will not be available for the competition. Karthik, while further addressing, believes that there is no one better than Bhuvneshwar Kumar at the moment, and it is an amazing decision.

Karthik added, "Not many better than Bhuvi going around right now. Superb decision. Well done, selector. It's a brave move and I'm happy they went for someone with skill and someone who could deliver on the big stage."
