Former Indian pacer and commentator, Dodda Ganesh, has indirectly taken a dig at the legendary MS Dhoni for his recent behavior while praising Virat Kohli for his heartwarming gesture after the thrilling IPL 2024 clash between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

Ganesh shared two pictures on the microblogging site X; one was from the RCB vs. CSK clash at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, and the second was from his past meeting with Kohli back in 2008. He turned the clock back and remembered when he met the batting maestro for the first time.

Virat Kohli has not changed a bit in the last 16 years: Dodda Ganesh

The former Karnataka seamer said that Kohli has not changed a bit in the last 16 years, despite becoming one of the best batters the game has ever seen and scoring mountains of runs over the years. Ganesh further described Kohli as a great ambassador of the game.

On the other hand, many have been questioning Dhoni’s attitude for not waiting and shaking hands with the RCB players after CSK suffered their major heartbreak of the ongoing IPL 2024 season, whereas Kohli won hearts with his kind gesture to follow the former Indian skipper to meet him in the dressing room.

Amid the debate over Dhoni’s gesture towards the RCB players and vice versa, Ganesh was really impressed with the way Kohli met and talked to him after the team’s fabulous win against the CSK in the do-or-die clash at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Saturday.

May you continue to shine for India: Dodda Ganesh

Sharing a couple of pictures on X, Dodda Ganesh wrote on X: “Was great pleasure meeting Virat Kohli yesterday after a fabulous win for @RCBTweets. The humility with which he speaks to people sets him apart. The other picture is from 2008, when I met him for the first time at Taj West-end; he was only making a mark then. I vividly remember that day’s conversation too. He hasn’t changed one bit in these 16 years but for the mountain of runs he’s scored. Truly a great ambassador of the game. May you continue to shine for India @imVkohli @BCCI🙌 #IPL2024.”

Recently, Kohli opened up about his retirement plans and broke billions of hearts. He had stated: “Once I am done, I will be gone, you won't see me for a while (smiles). So, I want to give it everything I have till the time I play, and that's the only thing that keeps me going.”

Notably, a video is doing the rounds on social media where Dhoni can be seen in the queue with the CSK players for the customary handshake with the RCB player after their incredible win in the thrilling match. However, after waiting for a while, Dhoni decided to return to the CSK dressing room.

But the legendary Indian cricketer shook hands with the RCB supporting staff and some of the benched players while leaving for the CSK dressing room in Bengaluru. Although many were not happy with the CSK legends’ gesture, some are slamming the RCB players for their attitude of not greeting Dhoni.
