Like Sanjay Manjrekar, another former Team India cricketer, Dodda Ganesh also suggests that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) bar the cricketers from overreacting in matches. The recent incident involved Yashasvi Jaiswal, who went too close to the Sri Lanka National Cricket Team pacer Asitha Fernando after being dismissed by him in Colombo.

The verbal spat, which could have turned into a physical altercation, sparked widespread controversy around the Indian cricketers and the norms of the game. On most of the occasions, players are sentenced to submit a penalty from their match fees. Dodda Ganesh felt that the ICC and BCCI, both of the cricket governing bodies, will have to tackle the matter with a stricter approach.

Dodda Ganesh explains the need for stricter actions

Highlighting a few heated moments from the recent past, Dodda Ganesh predicted that if players continue to react like this, showing extreme aggression on the ground towards the opposing team players, then in the future the fans may have to witness a fist fight during a cricket match.

"We saw Paras Dogra getting away after he head-butted Aneesh in the Ranji finals, with just a fine, and now Jaiswal too gets away with a fine. If this is the precedent we’re going to set, the days are not far away when we would probably see cricketers involved in fist-fights on the field. You can’t get physical in this game. Period," Dodda Ganesh wrote in his 'X' post, supporting Sanjay Manjrekar.

On the morning of August 26, addressing both the ICC and the BCCI, Sanjay Manjrekar asked them to prevent cricketers from doing such actions on the field, as it might harm the image of the game and their own careers as well.

"Vaibhav for Ind A recently & now Jaiswal… if you keep letting them get away with such behaviour, you train them to repeat such behaviour. It’s not good for the sport & crucially their own future too," Manjerakar wrote on his 'X' post.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi involved in a heated moment in Sri Lanka

Before Team India's tour to Sri Lanka for the ongoing 2-match Test series, the India A team travelled to the island nation for a multi-format series. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi was then a part of the team. India A lost to the Sri Lanka A team after a dramatic Super Over.

The 15-year-old Indian opener had a bad day on the ground. Soon after the final ball of the match, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi engaged in a heated argument with the Sri Lankan players.

It was assumed that the Lankan player named Vishen Halambage might have said something to Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, which forced him to turn back and talk back sharply. The incident also went viral across social media platforms, with many suggesting the batter stay calm under pressure moments.

After Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, it was Yashasvi Jaiswal, 24, who lost his cool soon after losing his wicket against Fernando.
