Doesn't Matter Who He Is, The Bus Will Go If Someone Comes Late: Ravi Shastri On His Incident With Sourav Ganguly

Team India’s head coach Ravi Shastri opened about an infamous incident that he had with current BCCI president Sourav Ganguly in 2007 in Bangladesh.
Since Ganguly took over the position of the BCCI chief there have been lots of media lights on his rifts with the Indian head coach. In fact, some rumours also mentioned that Shastri’s position could be in danger after the former West Bengal cricketer took the office on the board.

Shastri is well known for his discipline and punctuality and for him every player is equal. Once Shastri had to ask the bus driver to leave on time when Ganguly did not make it on time. The Indian head coach, while talking about that incident, once again said the bus will go irrespective of any individual.
“If someone comes late for the bus, the bus will go, doesn’t matter who he is – it just happened to be Sourav that day,” Shastri told Times Now.
“The media love these stories. They love this bhel puri & chat and will make nice masala out of it. I also enjoy these stories a lot,” he added.
Ravi Shastri’s second term as head coach to end in November this year
Shastri is currently with the Indian cricket team in England for the five-match Test series, where currently the series is locked at 1-1 with two more games yet to be played. The 1983 World Cup-winning player’s contract as the team’s head coach will expire after the 2021 ICC T20 World Cup in November and he is unlikely to extend it for another year.
Meanwhile, Ganguly’s tenure as BCCI president ended last year but he continues to occupy the position on the basis of a petition filed by the Indian board to waive his ‘cooling off’ period for three years.
India will play the fourth Test against England on Thursday (September 2) at Kennington Oval in London.
