Rajasthan Royals batter Donovan Ferreira got his first outing with the bat for the Royals this season and played a fine knock after his team struggled to get started at one stage. He smacked a humongous hit off SRH spinner Harsh Dubey after scoring his maiden IPL half-century.

The Rajasthan Royals have had the most in-form batting attack. They have had their top three executing in such fashion that no other player has been needed to come into bat on the majority of the occasions.

Donovan Ferreira is one such batter who was picked by the Royals as a finisher batting lower down the order. The South African batter possesses a sheer ability to clear the fence on such occasions; however, he was waiting for the right moment, and it finally arrived.

Donovan Ferreira's humongous hit against SRH spinner Harsh Dubey

South African batters hitting the ball out of the park is nothing new to witness in the IPL. AB de Villiers to David Miller, players have done this on several occasions before, and now a new name has been added to the list: Donovan Ferreira.

The batter played a very fine knock, scoring his maiden half-century in the TATA IPL. But what caught attention was his colossal six against Harsh Dubey in the 12th over of the game. It was tossed up on a length, and the bowler could settle nicely under the ball, mowing it over the mid-wicket boundary for a huge 102-meter hit.

The bowl sailed away into the crowd and would be one of the biggest hits in this edition of the TATA IPL.

Ferreira and Jadeja show commitment with a century stand for the Royals

At one stage, the Rajasthan Royals were not only in trouble but were ruined, with half of the team back in the dugout following a carnage by the two SRH debutants. However, Donovan Ferreira and Ravindra Jadeja, the batters at no. 6 and 7 for the Royals, showed some great character under those tough conditions.

The two batters took control, as Ravindra Jadeja mostly looked to control the innings with singles and doubles, and Donovan looked to give it back to the SRH batters. He played some spectacular shots and especially took charge against the spinners.

He went on to add 118 runs for the sixth wicket alongside the veteran all-rounder Jadeja. This marked the highest partnership between two batters for the sixth wicket after a team was reduced to 5 wickets with less than 10 runs on the board, in all Men's T20s.

Sakib Hussain completed his spell with a four-fer

With Praful Hinge's special debut and dream first over, one of the bowlers whose efforts went a bit ignored was Sakib Hussain, the young pacer from Bihar who also bowled exceptionally and eventually finished the game with even better figures.

Hussain picked his first wicket in the form of Yashasvi Jaiswal in the second over of the game and then dismissed the set Donovan Ferreira after he was reintroduced into the attack by Ishan Kishan. He finished with the figures of 4/24 in his four overs.

He bowled some splendid change of pace deliveries in the death and cleaned up Donovan, while also dismissing Jofra Archer and Ravi Bishnoi in consecutive deliveries. He will be on a hat-trick in the first ball of his next game for the Sunrisers.
