Jasprit Bumrah has indirectly taken a sly dig at Virat Kohli after former Australian skipper Michael Clarke asked how someone can bowl at 150 km/h and still be the “nicest guy” on the field. Jasprit Bumrah made it clear that he plays with intensity and always wants to win, but he doesn't believe in over-the-top aggression or unnecessary drama.
The Indian fast bowler has stressed that staying focused and professional is more important than being a "clown," hinting at Kohli’s fiery on-field personality. This unexpected dig has stunned many fans while leaving Clarke splits, as the video has now taken social media by storm.
Jasprit Bumrah shocks fans with indirect jibe at Virat Kohli’s fiery persona
Jasprit Bumrah told Michael Clarke on his podcast, “I don't know about that, but I do have my competitive spirit, and I do play to win, but I don't want to cross the line, and everybody plays cricket in a certain manner, which I also do. Yes, you have to be competitive; you want to give your best, but you don't have to be a clown. That is something I try not to be.”
One more reason to hate him. But but he never says anything indirectly to Kohli saaaaar. Fittest comment was about bowlers saaaar. He is pure innocent soul saaaar.

Notably, Virat Kohli’s ultra-aggressiveness on the field is a hallmark of his fierce competitive spirit. With intense energy, bold celebrations, fearless confrontations, and a fiery attitude, Kohli fuels team spirit and intimidates opponents, making him one of the fiercest competitors.
Jasprit Bumrah shines in MI's Qualifier 2 qualification
Meanwhile, Bumrah once again showed why he’s India’s top pacer, delivering a brilliant spell in a high-scoring Eliminator between Gujarat Titans and Mumbai Indians on May 30. While most bowlers struggled, Bumrah kept things tight with figures of 1/27 and an economy of just 6.80.
His toe-crushing yorker to dismiss Washington Sundar helped the Mumbai Indians beat the Gujarat Titans by 20 runs. Bumrah now has 18 wickets this season at an average of just 15.33. As always, Captain Hardik Pandya turned to him when it mattered most.

Ravichandran Ashwin calls Bumrah a cheat code for MI
After the match, Ravichandran Ashwin couldn’t help but praise Bumrah, calling him a "cheat code" for the Mumbai Indians’ success.
Ashwin said on his YouTube channel, ‘Ash Ki Baat,’ “I had tweeted during the T20 World Cup that Bumrah is a cheat code in today's T20 cricket. Have you ever played this Road Rash NFS game? It's a cheat code. This game could have gone even closer if Jasprit Bumrah's over didn't happen."
The premier right-arm quick Bumrah will be next seen in action when the Mumbai Indians take on the Punjab Kings in Qualifier 2 of the Indian Premier League 2025 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
