India head coach Rahul Dravid looks determined that India will win the T20 World Cup 2024 and end the decade-long wait for an ICC trophy. India will face South Africa in the final on June 29 at Kensington Oval, Bridgetown, Barbados.

The Men in Blue have been in good form this tournament with both bat and ball. They defeated big tournament favorites like Australia and England in their last two games and will be confident ahead of the big final.

On the other hand, South Africa aren't much behind either. The Proteas have shown tremendous consistency and have won all their eight games so far. They will be aiming for the ninth win this tournament which can end their drought for an ICC trophy as well.

Rahul Dravid determined to win the T20 World Cup 2024 title

Rahul Dravid has served Indian cricket for a long time as a cricketer and a coach. But unfortunately, he doesn't have any ICC trophies to show. He came really close to winning one ICC trophy last year when India reached the ODI World Cup 2023 final. But the Men in Blue couldn't win the final and Dravid was left disappointed again.

With the ongoing T20 World Cup being Dravid's last assignment as India's head coach, a trend called #DoItForDravid has been gathering pace on social media where fans are demanding an ICC trophy for the Indian legend. When Dravid was asked about the trend, he clearly answered that he doesn't want to do it for somebody but he wants to do it because it's there.

“I don’t really believe in this ‘Do it for somebody’. I love that quote about somebody asking somebody else, ‘Why do you want to climb Mount Everest?’ and he says ‘I want to climb Mount Everest because it’s there’," Dravid was quoted as saying by Disney Hotstar.

"I want to win this World Cup because it's there. It's not for anyone. It's not for anybody, it's just there to win. I just want to play good cricket and yeah, doing it for someone is totally against who I am as a person and what I believe in. So, I don't want to talk about it and discuss it," the India head coach added.

Third T20 World Cup final for India

India are the inaugural champions of the T20 World Cup title but haven't been able to lift the trophy since. This will be their third appearance in a T20 World Cup final. Out of the two appearances, the Men in Blue finished as winners in 2007 and runners-up in 2014. It remains to be seen whether they can end their drought for an ICC trophy that has been going on since 2013.

It is expected to be a thrilling final between two best sides of the tournament. Both the teams have their most bases covered and can be lethal on their day. The team that can handle the pressure of the final is likely to finish on top.
