Duleep Trophy 2024 is all set to commence in September and a total of four teams will battle with each other in the tournament. Duleep Trophy starts the domestic season of the red-ball format in Indian cricket.

The tournament witnessed its first season in 1961-62 and has been followed over the years. It comes under First-Class cricket and matches are played in Test format. Each game consists of four days.

This time, a total of 4 teams are part of the Duleep Trophy and they are named as Team A, Team B, Team C, and Team D. The first round will witness all the teams clashing with each other once and a total of 6 games will be played.

In the first encounter, Team A will clash with Team B from September 5 to 8. The venue of the encounter is Rural Development Trust Stadium in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh. The last match of the first round is between Team A and Team C, set to take place at the same venue from September 19-22.

All the key domestic players are part of the tournament. Popular players of national teams like Shubman Gill, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shreyas Iyer, and Abhimanyu Easwaram are captains of the four teams.

There are 4 teams in Duleep Trophy 2024 and they will be ranked according to their performances. Each team will face the other team once. After the league stage, the top teams in the points table will clash in the final.

Duleep Trophy 2024 Format

The format of the tournament is changed and modified by BCCI according to their plans. This year, there are a total of four teams and they will face each other once during the tournament.

Later, the top two teams will play in the final. So far, only the schedule for the first round has been announced. The second round will be played later at MA Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

There are two venues for all six games of Duleep Trophy 2024 in the first round. All the matches will be played at either Rural Development Trust Stadium in Anantapur or ACA ADCA Ground in Anantapur.

This time, BCCI has formed 4 teams and instead of zonal names like East or Central zones they have been named Team A, Team B, Team C, and Team D. Shubman Gill is the captain of Team A and Abhimanyu Easwaram is the skipper of Team B. Ruturaj Gaikwad is the leader of Team C while Shreyas Iyer has the reins of Team D.
