Trent Boult has made a return to international cricket after opting out of it for a while. He is currently playing the second ODI against New Zealand at The Rose Bowl in Southampton. The left-arm pacer has made a grand return and has made a mockery of the hosts.

But Trent Boult needs to thank Micthell Santner for his first wicket on his return. The all-rounder took a magnificent catch that saw Jonny Bairstow back in the hut for a two-ball duck in the rain-curtailed match in England.

Trent Boult bowled an inswinger around middle to which Jonny Bairstow tried to work across the line. The ball took the leading edge and it flew towards the cover. Mitchell Santner leaped up and took a staggering one-handed catch with his left hand. Here’s the video:

If this was not enough, Trent Boult continued to impress as he bowled magnificently well. The Kiwi pacer then sent Joe Root packing for a duck two deliveries later. He bowled a length delivery around the middle and leg that shaped back in sharply and struck the batter on the pads to see him back in the hut LBW.

ENG vs NZ: Trent Boult Sends Ben Stokes packing as well

The Kiwi pacer Trent Boult in the next over continued wreaking havoc across the England batting lineup as he removed Ben Stokes as well. It’s fair to say that the batter threw his wicket way as he walked down the pitch and tried to play the aerial shot. He didn’t get the elevation right and gave an easy catch to mid-off.

After that England lost Harry Brook as well. They were in deep trouble as they were left tottering at 28/4. The game has been curtailed to 34 overs due to rain. It remains to be seen how England fares after being under pressure.
