ENG vs PAK: Watch - "Aap captain hain..." - Ahmed Shehzad tears Babar Azam to shreds for shouting at fans in England

Former Pakistan cricketer Ahmed Shahzad slammed Babar Azam for his poor behavior with fans in Cardiff ahead of the third T20I against England. He stated that the Pakistan skipper shouldn’t have treated the fans like he did as he is captain of the team. 

Pakistan's team are currently playing the four-match T20I series against England. Babar Azam is leading the side and things so far haven’t been great. He has lost one game as the captain of the team and also didn’t have a great outing off-field ahead of the third game. 

Pakistan skipper Babar Azam has come under scrutiny after his video of scolding fans in England went viral. The right-hander was mobbed by fans, who were looking to click pictures with the batter, but it didn’t go well with the captain of the Pakistan National Cricket Team. 

Babar Azam was seen spending time with his family and was arranging the car for his family. It was then that he was surrounded by the fan and got irritated. The Pakistan skipper didn't go easy on the fans and lashed out at them, saying that they should spare him for a few minutes and they should allow him to spend time with his family.

The video went viral on the internet and it saw Babar Azam getting criticised a lot. Many fans, as well as pundits, lashed out at the Pakistan skipper for his poor behavior towards the fans, who were keen to meet him in Cardiff. 

Ahmed Shahzad highlighted the issue and lashed out at skipper Babar Azam. He said that even though his mood wasn’t great he shouldn't have shown such kind of attitude in public. He stressed that Pakistan fans in England are crazy about the team and Babar should’ve treated them well. Speaking to a media channel, he stated: 

“You get a huge fan following, people love you and as a cricketer one plays for this day only. So, people come to you and sometimes you are not in a good mood but you are not only a batter or a player, you are the captain of the Pakistan team. 

“So, whatever your mood was, you cannot show this kind is attitude publicly. You got to realise that overseas Pakistanis, they have left all in their country to meet you.”

Pakistan will benefit if Babar will open - Basit Ali 

Former Pakistan batter Basit Ali recently advised Babar Azam to open the innings for the team in the T20 World Cup 2024. He believes that the right-hander shouldn’t worry about his strike rate and having him at the top makes the team strong. Speaking on his on his YouTube channel, he stated: 

“Pakistan will benefit if Babar will open. I don't know who has given him advice to bat at No.3. He should be the one batting through and not worry about the strike rate. Pakistan's middle-order now have hard hitters but the base at the top must be great.”

Babar Azam has been batting at No.3 in the ongoing series against England. He was highly successful as the opener of the team and it remains to be seen if he goes up the order or not.
